This project is part of a new, multi-building development located at the intersection of Olde Kensington and Fishtown called 1 BRKS. The development, with plenty of restaurants and retail, will bring more life and energy to the growing neighborhood. Our 6-story building includes the construction of 75 residential units over three ground floor commercial spaces and 25 underground parking spaces. Its gray cladding featuring large windows creates a modern, clean design. The deck above the parking level is a hybrid of cast in place concrete and concrete on structural steel/metal decking. It is being built adjacent to the Philadelphia rail line called “The El” which is no easy feat. The project site was also very complicated due to the amount of sheeting and shoring (caisson design shoring systems with tiebacks).
