The Temple University Hospital ICU and Cardiac Cath Lab Renovations project delivers a modernized adult intensive care unit and updated cardiac catheterization suite within an active, occupied hospital campus in Philadelphia. TCG is providing construction management and general contracting services for this hospital renovation project, converting the entire third floor of the Park Ave Pavilion into a 22-bed, private-room Intensive Care Unit. The renovation includes decentralized nurse stations, a family waiting area, dedicated medication and nutrition rooms, and full staff support spaces, including offices, on-call suites, and a staff education room.
This hospital construction project is being delivered on a fully occupied floor, requiring ICRA infection-control barriers and negative-air containment throughout construction to protect ongoing patient care in the surrounding facility. All material deliveries are scheduled during off-hours through a dedicated freight elevator to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
Running in parallel with the ICU renovation, TCG is also renovating Temple’s existing Cardiac Catheterization Lab #3, updating the space with expanded control rooms to support current cardiac care equipment and workflow. The project is being delivered under a multi-prime construction structure, with TCG coordinating directly alongside separate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing/fire protection prime contractors under Temple’s delegation agreement with the Pennsylvania Department of General Services and the Governor’s Office of the Budget.
